Programme Characteristics

Characteristics IBW English

International Experience

Progressing internationalisation and advancing globalisation stress the importance of intercultural competencies, linguistic competencies and international experiences as key qualifications.

Our study program includes an obligatory internship abroad as well as language skills in another language (i.e. French or Spanish) than German or English to prepare our students for the challenges of international careers. The internship abroad offers the opportunity to apply their professional competences and their language skills in real working environments. Besides the gains in practical experiences the students also learn how to deal with the challenges that appear when working in international and intercultural environments.

Furthermore, our students can spend a semester studying abroad. Although this is possible for all our study focusses, the study focus “International Program” comprises an obligatory semester abroad. This study focus was designed to support the international experience of our students and preparing them for international careers. Typically, the students spend one semester (i.e. their 6th semester) abroad, attend courses that supplement their studies in Aalen and can still finish their studies together with their fellow students when they come back to Aalen, without losing any time.
