Discover the power of light - and start your career with us. The Aalen School of Applied Photonics (AASAP) offers multidisciplinary educational programs in the field of optical and photonic technologies. It covers a range of scientific aspects with potential product applications in important economic sectors such as information and communication technologies, medicine and health, manufacturing and energy consumption. Optical technologies make a significant contribution to employment and value creation both now and in the future. They also play a high role in research, teaching and further education. Photonics is a key technology that has mastered the balancing act between tradition and transformation.
You can join us at any point at your career path. Be it as a student for the Bachelor's program in Optical Engineering, as a Bachelor's graduate for the Master's program in Applied Photonics or the Research Master's, as a Master's graduate for a doctorate in one of our research centers Center for Optical Technologies and LaserApplicationCenter or as an employee. We qualify you for positions in industry, scientific research, teaching and much more.
The AASAP is a comprehensive training program for an important research focus of Aalen University of Applied Sciences, photonics, under the Faculty of Optics and Mechatronics. Our students and doctoral candidates have the opportunity to deal with current findings in the field, develop scientific questions, form hypotheses, select and implement suitable subject-specific research methods and publish initial results in scientific publications. In this way, they acquire and deepen their specific specialist knowledge and also gain (inter)specialist skills.
Our mission is to promote young regional and international scientists, to jointly advance current research topics, to link learning and research processes and thus to be a valuable part of the key technology of the 21st century.
