The university ranking of the Centre for Higher Education (CHE) comprises more than 300 universities in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands. The ranking offers interested students a comprehensive portfolio of information about the courses of study, teaching, and research at single universities. But it also includes ranking results of current students that evaluate their university among others in the categories overall study situation, range of courses offered, international orientation of the bachelor, touchpoints to professional practice in the bachelor, support at the start of studies and total number of students (major).

The discipline Industrial Engineering at Aalen University– comprising the B.Eng. Industrial Engineering (W) and the M.Eng. Industrial Management (IDM) – could reach high-class results in this year’s CHE Ranking 2017/2018 and position itself in the top group of the five best universities for applied science in Germany. Likewise, the discipline of Business Sciences yields excellent results from the students’ point of view and reached in almost all categories the top group. Thus, both disciplines once again confirmed the outstanding results of the well-known international U-Multirank university ranking.

The Faculty of Management and Business Sciences appreciates the very good ranking results and both action fields are taken as an incentive for being able to improve further in the next years. U-Multirank

U-Multirank is is the biggest user-oriented university ranking that comprises information about 1,500 universities from 99 countries, more than 3,280 faculties, about 10,500 study programs among 16 disciplines. On the basis of their own preferences and priorities U-Multirank universities can be assessed along 39 indicators in five dimensions: research, teaching and learning, international orientation, knowledge transfer and regional engagement. Interested parties can create their own individual, multi-dimensional university ranking online on the website. 89 universities from Germany have been involved - including Aalen University and the FMBS. 

In the latest edition 2020/2021, the subjects Business Studies and Industrial Engineering (Production/Industrial Engineering) at Aalen University achieved again good results. The competition was very fierce in the Business Studies department. Nevertheless, in the current ranking in the student survey in the area of "Teaching & Learning students view", the department made it to the top of the TOP4 universities in Germany with a total of 8 B-values. Business Administration also achieved the top grade of "A" for the international orientation of its Bachelor's programmes and in the area of research for external research income.

The industrial engineers were also able to convince with good student ratings in the area of "Teaching & Learning" and secure a place among the TOP-5 universities in Germany. In addition, the high practical orientation of the study programmes was praised. Thus, in the area of "Teaching & Learning" and in the category "Contact with Professional Practice", a very good (value "A") was achieved in the Bachelor's degree.
