Th, 18. June 2015 From the 10th to the 18th of June 2015 the International Relations Office of Aalen University welcomed the representatives of the University of Akron, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and Black Hills State University. In addition to various company visits, the aim was to give the guests an overview of the teaching at German universities. Alongside professors of other courses of studies, two female professors and one male professor of the course of International Business Administration studies, held a short guest lecture for the American guests. Prof. Dr. Christina Ravens gave a historical overview on the development of the German economy in her lecture “Economic History Germany”. In her lecture “Subtle Divergences: Organizational Structural Preferences in German and American Firms” Prof. Dr. Jae-Aileen Chung dealt with different organizational structures, whereby she referred to the different preferences in the USA and Germany in order to work out similarities and differences between both countries. Finally Prof. Dr. Jürgen Strauß, in the lecture “Trade Mark Protection in Europe”, dealt with the trademark law in Europe taking particular account of the legal framework and its practical implementation.
