For almost twenty years, there has been a partnership between Aalen University’s International Business major and École Supérieure de Commerce (ESC) in Clermont-Ferrand. There have already been many visits from professors and groups of students (study tours), and students regularly do a semester abroad at their respective partner schools.

The École Supérieure de Commerce (ESC) is a private university that is run by businesses in the Auvergne Region (among others, the MICHELIN Corporation) and the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie Puy de Dome. It belongs to the group of “Grandes Écoles” and is regularly ranked as one of the top business schools in France.

The Universities‘ partnership needs to be strengthened, though. For this reason, professors Dr. Jae Chung (Master in International Marketing & Sales, Master Finance, Auditing and Governance) and Dr. Jürgen Strauß (International Business) visited the ESC for a few days to start comprehensive talks with the university’s leadership and a few professors. The intention is to offer a dual degree program for bachelor’s and master’s students and to intensify the exchange of professors. A shorter term goal is to start some joint research projects with ESC. The negotiations taking place between the universities were able to be furthered considerably due to this trip to Clermont-Ferrand.
